AlliedOffsets hosted a webinar this week introducing AlliedCredits, an open marketplace for spot and forward carbon credits. The session was led by Lars Kroijer, CEO and Co-Founder, and Daniel Blum, Carbon Policy Analyst, and included a live walkthrough of the platform.
The discussion centred on a problem most participants in the carbon market will recognize. Sellers hold inventory and forward volumes they are willing to move. Buyers have budgets and mandates. Very little of that interest is visible in one place, and almost none of it is visible for forward credits, where open pricing is still rare. Buyer and seller interest exists on both sides but the two rarely meet.
AlliedCredits is built to close that gap. The platform hosts public, indicative listings for both spot and forward credits, giving buyers, sellers, brokers and project developers a shared view of where interest sits and at what price.
Daniel then demonstrated the platform live, showing how listings are browsed and filtered, and how sellers post indicative listings and respond to interest.
The session covered several key themes, including:
- Where prices are today, and what the market is doing
- Why compliance demand is the bigger story
- Why we built AlliedCredits, and what it does
- Who is using it: brokers, buyers and project developers
- A live look at the platform
- Questions from the audience
