AlliedOffsets hosted a webinar this week presenting the findings from our latest report, *The US Carbon Market: Buyers, CDR and the Cost of Standing Outside A6*. The session was led by Maria Orsola Benzoni, Project Lead, Custom Insights, and Lars Kroijer, Founder, and closed with a live Q&A.
The discussion centred on a market that is large but uneven. More carbon credits are issued and retired in the US than anywhere else, yet demand is heavily concentrated, with a single buyer accounting for close to a third of the market. Carbon removal is attracting more buyers each year, but volumes have not kept pace. With no US project holding a Letter of Authorization, US developers are also shut out of CORSIA demand worth an estimated $1.5-2.7B a year.
Maria walked through the report's key findings, from buyer concentration and CDR demand to the cost of standing outside Article 6. Lars then shared takeaways from his conversations at Climate Week NYC and his outlook for the US market.

- Who is buying US carbon credits, and how concentrated demand has become
- How the US CDR buyer base has doubled since 2022, and why volumes haven't followed
- US supply versus projected CORSIA demand
